These terms of sale apply to all goods supplied by Talking Balloons LTD.
By using Talking Balloons you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below.
You agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about you as prompted. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or Talking Balloons has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, Talking Balloons has the right to suspend or terminate your order.
Place of performance and applicable law
Talking Balloons LTD is registered in England. Talking Balloons is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality balloons and accompanying products. Unless otherwise specified, the materials on our website are directed solely at those who access this site from the United Kingdom mainland. Talking Balloons makes no representation that any product referred to in the materials on this site is appropriate for use, or available, in other locations. Those who choose to access this site from other locations are responsible for compliance with local laws if and to the extent local laws are applicable. English law shall govern this Agreement. You and we each submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to disputes arising out of this Agreement.
Placing an order
All prices quoted are in £ (sterling) and are excluding carriage. In the unlikely event of an error in price or a change of price, which differs from your online order, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity at the email address and phone number provided when placing your order. Any emailed orders that contain a correct description will be processed, but any pricing you place against your description will not be considered. NOTE: We will still process your order and you will be charged at current prices.
Website offers are available for online purchase only. Ordering via email, phone or instore will not result in the same item being at the sale or offer price.
If the items are out of stock, or delayed for any reason, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity at the email address or telephone number provided when placing the order. If we cannot contact you or receive no reply to an email we will continue to process the order if possible. If we are unable to continue your order it will be put on hold until we can proceed. A delay in response may result in a delay to your order, Talking Balloons will take no responsibility for this.
All items are subject to availability.
To order from Talking Balloons website, simply follow the order process online. Products, prices, payment options and delivery methods are displayed on this website.
When ordering online, payment must be made by one of the options at the time of placing the order. The price on the website at the time of the order is the price in force at that time. In the unlikely event that an incorrect price is shown on our website, Talking Balloons reserves the right to abstain from fulfilling the order at that price. You will of course be notified, at which point you will be informed of the correct price, and given the choice to proceed with the order. Delivery charges are excluded in the price and are calculated based on the products and service chosen.
When placing an order for collection in store, this can be done on our website by selecting click and collect inflated, over the phone, via email or social media or by calling in and pre-ordering. All orders that are to be inflated will be pre-inflated with helium or air prior to your collection to allow any faults to be found and the products replaced before collection occurs. A care card is issued with pre-inflated balloons to inform you, the customer, how to safely transport, store and use the balloons safely and to achieve the best floatation from your purchase. Any issues arising from your order must be reported to us within 2 hours of the collection or delivery and the faulty item/s returned to us for investigation and replacement if appropriate. Should this fault occur out of shop opening hours, either a photograph or video showing the full balloon/s or display must be presented to us via email or social media to enable us to assist further. Should the outcome of a manufacture fault be reported after our investigations have taken place either a replacement or in store credit will be provided. If the investigation shows a ‘user error’ and not a fault of manufacture, no refund, replacement or credit will be offered. Should you, the customer, be unable to provide either the returned product, and/ or photographs/ video’s to assist us in our investigation, no further action can be taken by Talking Balloons Ltd and no remuneration will be possible.
When collecting an inflated order from our shop, our staff quality check all orders prior to collection and once the order has been handed over to the collection party, all responsibility lies with the customer. Any damage, burstages, fly away’s and/or losses are solely the responsibility of Talking Balloons customer. Talking Balloons will endeavour to assist the customer but charges will be incurred for any replacements, additions or amendments required.
Non account customers.
Payment must be received at the time of order by either credit/ debit card or bank transfer, Amex incurs an additional fee charge. If another payment method is requested, e.g Paypal, this may incur additional fees. Online customers will pay through Sage Pay, Google Pay or Apple Pay. We accept all major cards including Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and Delta. A delay in payment may result in a delay to your order.
Account customers.
Credit terms are strictly 30 days from invoice date. A delay in payment of your account will incur a late fee of 1.5% of interest per month and may result in a delay to your order/s or your account frozen until the debt is cleared.
The acceptance of your order will be deemed to occur on allocation of the goods to your order.
We may not accept your order for the following reasons:
- We have been unable to obtain authorisation for your payment
- The product you ordered is out of stock
- We have identified a pricing or product description error
- There is a failure to meet the eligibility to order criteria as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
Invoices will automatically be issued for any products that leave Talking Balloons. If applicable, a credit or refund may be raised on return of the product.
If an account has been dormant for more than 12 months, it will revert to a pro forma account with immediate effect.
Modifications to the website
We may change, remove, suspend or even discontinue parts of the website from time to time. Any changes made or new products added will be subject to these terms & conditions.
We endeavour to ensure all the information on our website is accurate and correct, however as we are human we may have made mistakes, typing errors or other inaccuracies.
Images of products are kept as up to date as possible, however there may be times when colours, types and/ or designs differ slightly to the images shown on the website. Talking Balloons will offer no credits or refunds for such products in these circumstances.
Pack sizes maybe despatched as a whole or smaller packs to make up the same quantity.
Returns Policy
Online purchases are Subject to the right of consumers to return goods for refund under The Supply of Goods and Services Act and Distance Selling Regulations, however there will be a restocking & administration charge for any return, Talking Balloons does not sell products on a trial basis. Customers are strongly advised to check suitability and specifications of products and/or decorations before ordering.
In-store orders are not eligible for a return unless the item/s is faulty, please see Faulty Goods for more information.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel or change an order please contact us as soon as possible, either in store or by telephone initially and then follow the call up with an email confirmation.
Talking Balloons make every effort to process orders immediately and it may not be possible to stop an order being despatched in time or products being ordered in specially for your order. In this instance your cancellation will be treated as a Return and subject to our Returns Policy.
If your order has been processed and is in our system, charges will be made for cancellations and/ or alterations, restocking and administration. Depending on what you order is for and where it is within the process will determine the charge incurred.
You have the right to cancel your website purchase at any time either before despatch or up to 7 days following the despatch date by: emailing us at sales@talkingballoons.com stating your name, a description of the goods concerned and the order number of the cancelled order, or phoning us on 01246 270555 (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm excluding public holidays) - please have your order reference number and delivery details to hand.
If you wish to cancel your website order prior to despatch we will give you a full refund. However, if your order has already been inflated, constructed, printed, entered and/ or prepared for despatch there will be charges incurred for the cost of restocking, products already used, printing, packing and administration. Any charges that are incurred for the refund will be deducted from the total amount returned to you.
If you exercise your right to cancel your order after the goods have been despatched, you will be responsible for returning the goods to Talking Balloons at your own risk and cost, therefore, we strongly recommend you use an insured delivery method such as Royal Mail Special Delivery or a courier service. All returns are subject to the following conditions, except where the goods are faulty or incorrectly described on the website.
Your product must be complete and in ‘as new’ condition (e.g. If you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging). Opened packets/bags of balloons cannot be returned as once opened the packaging is damaged (our packs are either half or fully transparent, therefore the product can be viewed clearly without opening). It must not have been used. It should be returned with the original box, packing and accessories you received with it.
This offer does not apply to decorations, pre-inflated balloons, balloon in a box or helium cylinders/ tanks.
A proof of purchase must be supplied.
We will not refund any items that have been specially ordered to your individual specification or personalised, or helium cylinders/ tanks.
Goods returned outside the 7 days cancellation period (but within 28 days of receipt) that cannot be re-sold as new will only be refunded to their mail order return value and a credit note may be issued. Where we have made a charge for postage/ delivery, this will be deducted from your refund if the goods have been despatched to you. Any charges incurred to process a refund will be at your cost & deducted from the amount refunded, unless the refund is due to faulty goods (see below).
You cannot cancel your purchase when:
the goods were a special order to your specification; or
28 days has elapsed following despatch date
Until such time as you return the goods to us you must take reasonable care of the item(s) and not use them. Any use of the delivered goods beyond that necessary to inspect the goods upon delivery will invalidate your right to cancel the contract.
Authorising the Return
Prior to returning any goods received, you must contact us on 01246 270555 or email us at sales@talkingballoons.com stating your name, company name (if applicable), a description of the goods concerned, an order number of the cancelled order (if applicable) and any other appropriate information within 28 days of the despatch date. Failure to do so will result in the delay in processing your refund or the product being returned to you. All authorised returns must be returned to Talking Balloons, Returns Dept., 22 The Green, Hasland, Chesterfield, S41 0LJ.
Faulty Goods
You will have the option of an exchange, refund or store credit if the fault occurs within 28 days of the despatch date or within 2 hours of the collection/ drop off of an order from store (S41 0LJ). In all cases we reserve the right to inspect the product and verify the fault and, if no fault is found return the product to you, at your cost. No refund or exchange will be processed until the returned goods have been received by ourselves and an appraisal made as to any fault.
To qualify for a refund or exchange the products must be:
in otherwise “ as new” condition; and
complete with any accessories that were despatched with it, and packaging.
All monies for authorised returns will be refunded within 30 days of receipt of your returned goods.
This promise does not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear.
Any refund due to a fault or other defect will include a refund of the delivery charge, if applicable. We will pay for your costs of returning the faulty goods for replacement or refund. Replacement goods are sent by standard delivery only (i.e. Premium services are not available).
Wrong Items
If we have sent you out the wrong items by mistake, firstly, please contact us informing us of what items have been despatched incorrectly with 28 days of the despatch date. Once we have determined what items have been mistakenly despatched, return the items to us in perfect, un-opened and in a re-saleable condition, we will then send you out the correct products. Please quote your order number in with the returned item and inform us by email that the items have been sent. We strongly recommend sending the items by an insured delivery method, for example Royal Mail Special Delivery or by a courier service. If items are not received by us and you have no proof of postage, we will not be able to replace the items.
THIS RETURNS POLICY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. DETAILS OF YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU OR CONSUMER DIRECT.
Content
Talking Balloons shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage, which may arise from the use of any of the information contained in any of the materials on our website. Talking Balloons will only be liable for consequential losses within the contemplation of the parties.
Certain links to our website (typically a banner advert or icon) will lead to other sites, which are not under the control of Talking Balloons. When you activate any of these you will leave the Talking Balloons site and Talking Balloons has no control over and will accept no responsibility or liability for the material on any site, which is not under the control of Talking Balloons.
Limitation of Liability
Nothing in this Agreement shall affect the statutory rights of any consumer or exclude or restrict any liability for death or personal injury arising from the negligence or fraud of Talking Balloons. Subject to the above statement, you agree that Talking Balloons shall not be liable either in contract, tote, negligence, statutory duty or otherwise, for any direct loss or damage (including loss or damage which is reasonably foreseeable or occurs naturally in the course of things) resulting from any acts, omissions, failures or delays occurring on or in relation to those parts of the internet not under Talking Balloons’ direct control including, without limitation, damage for loss of business, loss of sales, non payment of sums due, loss of profits, business interruption, loss of reputation, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss (even where Talking Balloons has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage).
Talking Balloons accepts no liability or responsibility for incorrect use of an item, over inflation of balloons or the loss of helium when inflating balloons. We accept no liability for any damage or harm that comes from using our products if used incorrectly or irresponsibly. If any of our products are being used or handled by children, the responsibility lies with the adults or guardians responsible for the child or children in question. Any instructions given, supplied or available from us, or parties working on our behalf, should be strictly adhered to. These include, but are not limited to balloon safety and helium safety and usage.
You are responsible for ensuring that your computer is protected against viruses and infections that can and may be found on downloads from our website. We can take no responsibility for any harm or damage that may occur.
Due to matters out of our control; ecommerce website caching, products may appear in a shopping basket that were not chosen by the user, if this occurs it is the responsibility of the user to remove said items from the shopping basket prior to purchase. Talking balloons will accept no responsibility for the user/ customer failing to check the contents of their shopping basket before payment is made. Including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions on any products or prices secured on purchase.
Talking Balloons reserves the right to use any customers print artwork or sample balloons for advertisement without disclosure or permission.
The only liabilities that Talking Balloons can exclude are those arising from the following.
In cases where losses were not foreseeable to both parties when the contract was formed.
Where losses were not caused by any breach on the part of Talking Balloons.
For any business losses, and/ or losses to non-consumers.
Talking Balloons will accept no liability for any consequential losses.
Delivery
Every effort will be made to continue normal service throughout the company, however, due to delays with Royal Mail and courier services, we are currently unable to guarantee our next day deliveries. We strongly recommend ordering in advance of your requirement to allow extra delivery days prior to your event or requirement of your order.
Website delivery options can be viewed online. Orders required & agreed by Talking Balloons for next day must be received by Talking Balloons before 12 noon (weekends & holidays incur extra charges). No deliveries can be made on Bank Holidays. We guarantee all website orders will be received within 30 days. If Talking Balloons cannot deliver within 30 days you will be notified to arrange another time for delivery, or if you would prefer, to cancel your order. Delivery charges will depend on the products chosen, the delivery address & service chosen eligible for that location (Economy, Standard, Global or Express Next Day) and the weight of your items. We will use the most suitable form of delivery for the service and weight chosen. Delivery charges are calculated automatically, based on the weight of your total order. Our Express Next Day (Non Guaranteed), Standard & Global services cannot be guaranteed by our courier services. We will endeavour to deliver your order within the specified times stated but no guarantees can be made. Website discounted orders receiving free delivery are despatched on an Economy service only. Helium rental cylinders (including packs), Create Your Own and personalised banners are exclusive of this offer. If an incorrect country location is selected online for the delivery address given, the order will not be processed or despatched until the additional payment has been made. Delay's to orders due to this error are not the responsibility of Talking Balloons and we will not accept any responsibility or offer any refunds. Talking Balloons reserves the right to hold an order & payment already made until the order can be fully processed and despatched.
Charges will be incurred for multiple delivery addresses for the same order. Residential addresses incur extra delivery charges, these charges are already included online.
Deliveries are no longer the responsibility of Talking Balloons once delivered to the given address. We strongly recommend checking the goods and making sure the correct amount of boxes have been delivered before signing for the items. Failure to do so may result in a delay to your order for which Talking Balloons will take no responsibility. If the items are accepted or signed for by someone other than the recipient and not passed on, we cannot take any responsibility for this or offer any refund. We do our best to deliver the items to the correct address, however we cannot be held responsible for incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer. If items are delayed or lost due to this information being incorrect or incomplete, we are unable to offer any refund. Please ensure you supply full, true and complete details, including postcode.
When supplying a delivery address, it is your responsibility, Talking Balloons customer, to ensure full details are given to Talking Balloons, including but not limited to, opening times, restricted or poor access, multi level buildings, central reception areas and security entry systems. Where this nature of delivery address is given, delays to the order and/ or delivery may occur. Failed deliveries as a result of this is the responsibility of Talking Balloons customer, Talking Balloons cannot be held responsible for no responses when delivery attempts are made and will offer no refund or credit, we will depend on the advice from the courier company in all circumstances and situations.
If your order requires additional labelling and/ or booking in at a delivery point, an additional administration fee will be applied to your order.
A full address, including contact name and telephone number (preferably) a mobile number (for tracking purposes) for the delivery location is required on all orders supplied to Talking Balloons. If any information is omitted from the order delays may occur to the order and/ or delivery. Talking Balloons cannot take any responsibility for these delays and will offer no refund, credit or exchange.
All deliveries should be checked are fully complete and intact before signing for. Any missing boxes, damage or anomalies must be noted with the courier when signing for the consignment and followed up with evidence (including photographs) in writing within 2 days of receipt to Talking Balloons to enable action to be taken. After this time Talking Balloons cannot be held responsible for any losses or damage.
Most of our delivery services require a signature on receipt. A tracking reference is supplied on despatch of these orders and it is yours, Talking Balloons customers responsibility, to track the shipment. If a delivery is attempted but not successful (e.g. the recipient is not present to sign for the items) a card should be left giving details of the courier/ Royal Mail service to re-arrange a new delivery or collect from the local depot/ sorting office. It is the responsibility of you, the customer, to contact the courier/ Royal Mail to reschedule. A re-delivery if often attempted either the same day or the next available working day by courier but cannot be guaranteed. No credits or refunds will be offered so please ensure someone is available at the given address to sign for the items.
Deliveries for helium rental cylinders (including packs) and personalised banners cannot be shipped for the next day. Depending on the products chosen, the weight of the products and the service requested will depend on the delivery option chosen by Talking Balloons. Personalised banners take up to 7 working days if the express service is chosen or up to 10 working days for the economy. Deliveries for helium rental and disposable cylinders are only available to mainland UK addresses.
All our courier services are set up on pre-routed consignments, therefore once your order has been processed from the office and scheduled on to our manifest it is not possible to change the address. In rare circumstances where the above is deemed possible, the changing of an address will incur charges and no guarantees can be made on any post order adjustments. Talking Balloons will automatically assume that all deliveries are to be despatched back to the ordering customer unless otherwise stated on your order.
We use courier services who may or may not inadvertently pass on documents that we would normally consider confidential. We would recommend supplying commercial invoices, especially for non mainland addresses. Talking Balloons will take no responsibility if the above occurs. All nominated courier services apply terms & conditions which can be supplied upon request. Talking Balloons cannot be held responsible for any ongoing changes or amendments to courier terms & conditions, including but not limited to grace periods on all services including timed deliveries. Talking Balloons does not guarantee certain specified deliveries, including but not limited to 9am and 10am services. For further details on deliveries please email us at sales@talkingballoons.com.

Any complaints need to be received within 5 days of despatch for them to be dealt with. All complaints are taken seriously and will be investigated as soon as they are brought to our notice. We will endeavour to rectify any problems as soon as possible. It is our company policy that we do not offer any refund or exchange without looking in to the issue or complaint thoroughly, therefore you may be asked to return part or all of the product/ items purchased (please note no exchange, refund or credit will be given until a conclusion is come to regarding the item/s). If we find your complaint is valid we will offer either a refund, credit or exchange (depending on the product in question). If however, on the return of the item no issue or problem can be found (at the fault or responsibility of Talking Balloons) no refund will be given and the cost to return the item will be yours, the customer or purchaser.

All designs, text, graphics and their selection and arrangement on this site are the copyright of Talking Balloons or its content providers. As a visitor to the Talking Balloons site you are licensed to copy electronically or to print portions of this site for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use of the materials on this site is strictly prohibited.
If you supply artwork to be printed that carries a Copyright, it is your responsibility, the customer, to gain the relevant permission from the logo/ design owner. Talking Balloons will take no responsibility for any unauthorised prints.
Matters Beyond our Reasonable control
Talking Balloons shall not be held liable for any breach of this Agreement caused by circumstances out of its control including but not limited to, Pandemics, Acts of God, fire, lightening, flood, or extremely severe weather, explosion, war, disorder, industrial disputes (whether or not involving our employees), acts or omissions of Internet services providers or acts of local or central Government or other competent authorities.
Language
In the event of conflict or inconsistency between the terms of the English language version of this Agreement and any translation provided by us, the English language version shall prevail.
Privacy Policy
Due to the ordering process certain information given by you at the time of ordering is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, solely by Talking Balloons. Talking Balloons does not disclose any customer information to any third parties, unless it is necessary to fulfil and process your order. The information is used only for the purpose of processing your request and to communicate with you on any matters relating to the provision of the service in general. Information and statistics may also be used for the purpose of monitoring site usage and sales. These statistics will not include any information that can be used to identify any individual. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item. Site Security
The entire checkout process for the Talking Balloons web site is put through a secure server using Sage Pay. If you have any concerns regarding the security of this site please inform us.
Availability of our website
We endeavour to make our website available to view and use all year round, however, there are times when unfortunately, through no fault of our own, the website becomes unavailable, have errors or function problems. Talking Balloons takes no responsibility for this. You must not, as the purchaser or customer attempt to resolve these problems by tampering with the server, our system or any other internet device. Please inform us of any difficulties and we will do everything we can to resolve them as soon as possible.
Quotations
Our written quotations are valid for two weeks from the quotation date. Telephone verbal estimates are available, however they are not a binding quote. We will endeavour to ensure that all quotations are accurate and correct, however as we are human we may have made mistakes, typing errors or other inaccuracies. It is your responsibility, the customer, to thoroughly check the quote fulfils your enquiry request. Talking Balloons will not be held liable or responsible for any discrepancies or disputes.
Precision Screen Prints
A precision screen print is a high quality silk screen print on to latex balloons. These prints have more precise detail overall than other types of prints on the market. Our precision prints are able to use the Pantone matching system to enable a very accurate colour match, charges for this are incurred for less than 1000 balloons. The precision screen print is ideal for multi colour close registration artwork, with generally only +/- 2mm movement between screens/ colours, dependent on artwork, balloon types and colours chosen. Post production print samples are available by request and incur a charge.
Everyday Prints
An everyday print is a fast, low cost print on to latex balloons which is produced with lower precision for the required economical order. As such these balloons may include, but not limited to, the following: slight smudging, static, holes in the ink, dots on the balloons, slight misalignment, unlevel artwork, ink transfer, up to 3mm movement of each artwork in each direction.
By ordering an everyday screen print you are agreeing to the possibility of the above statement and understand that you have accepted the responsibility for such defects as mentioned. Whilst every effort will be made by Talking Balloons to produce a quality print, we will accept no responsibility if the above factors occur and will offer no refund.
Although the quality can be slightly less than our precision screen print, we still maintain a generally higher quality print than currently available on the market.
Everyday prints maybe despatched using low cost courier or postal services without signed for/ guaranteed receipt of goods. By signing the approval you, Talking Balloons customer, are accepting responsibility for despatch (including damage to goods) by this lower cost no liability method. If a signature is required this MUST be asked for and accompany the artwork approval within the same return email, additional carriage charges will be applied.
Everyday print prices are based on black or white ink, or a basic colour e.g. green (not a pantone) on single colour balloons. Any alteration to this will incur a mixing charge.
If a top quality print is required, particularly for multi colour one side accurate artwork then we strongly recommend a precision screen print order must be made.
Artwork
Artwork should be supplied, complete and ready for us to size to the print template. Any orders received where text origination is required, additional text is required, or designs need combining will incur artwork charges.
Artwork charges will be made to any order where more than 2 amendments are made. This applies to both artwork re-draws and supplied artwork.
Charges will be incurred if the order has been approved for any changes or cancellations made.
Pre-booked orders over 10,000 must be received within an agreed time period to guarantee your delivery date.
Pre-booked orders must be received with artwork that can be used and signed off within the agreed time period to guarantee your delivery date (also payment received if applicable), failure to do so will result in an express/ same day charge and/or a delay to your order.
All artwork (Precision, Everyday) are printed neck down as standard unless advised clearly on the purchase order prior to artwork approval. Artwork approval forms are there to allow you, the customer, to check off all areas of your order. Failure to do this may result in a delay to your order &/ or an error in your order. Please be aware your artwork approval represents your acceptance of the order information and artwork, once the artwork and/ or information contained within the artwork approval has been approved any errors become your responsibility as Talking Balloons customer. The artwork approval form supersedes any customer guidelines or visual mockups, either the customer or Talking Balloons have produced, including delivery and/ or artwork. Although we check through all orders and artwork thoroughly, we are human and do make mistakes, therefore we strongly recommend you check your artwork approvals in depth as any mistakes that are found, even at the fault of Talking Balloons, after you have signed the approval off will be your (Talking Balloons customer) responsibility. Talking Balloons will take no responsibility and offer no refund, credit or exchange.
Artwork approvals are sent to the customer for every order, whether a repeat order or not, to confirm the details not only of the design to be printed, balloon size, colour, finish, ink colours & quantity required, but also any accessories, other balloons, packing requirements, delivery details or anything else on your order. It is your responsibility, as the customer, to reply by email and confirm any details asked for within the specified time given by Talking Balloons.
We may chase the approval via email but no guarantees are made and no other form of communication will be attempted. Any delays, are your responsibility and Talking Balloons will not be held liable.
All details are required in writing.
Charges will be incurred for a mix of quantities within the same order.
Charges may be incurred for a mix of colours within the same order.
Ink Changes and Neck Changes are available for orders of 500 balloons or over and incur a charge per screen.
Same Day and Express charges may be incurred to fulfil your order for your specified delivery date.
Repeat orders are kept on file for 6 months and are for the artwork only, all other information including but not limited to; balloon colours, balloon sizes, ink colours, packing details and delivery information must be clearly stated on each individual order.
Packing
Print orders will be packed in appropriate quantities based on the order quantity and design required. If specific packaging is asked for, or is present on your order, we will advise the packing costs.
Value Balloons
Value balloons are created as a budget alternative to our regular balloon manufacture and may therefore contain some faults or irregularities comparable to supermarket balloons. If a quality latex balloon is required, we highly recommend ordering a regular latex balloon.
DECORATIONS POLICIES
By booking with Talking Balloons for any event decorations the customer is agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
Talking Balloons Decorations standard trading hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm and Saturday's 9am - 5pm. If your decoration is out of these times, we charge an out of hours fee for services and orders.
Talking Balloons ideally requires all bookings to be made at least 1 full month in advance of the customer’s event. Shorter notice events may be possible but availability cannot be guaranteed.
Once, you the customer has had your first consultation and a date for the event has been provided, Talking Balloons offers a £20.00 non-refundable ‘Save the Date’ fee to hold the date, this requires paying within 24 hours of booking the date. After this time, Talking Balloons reserves the right to take other bookings for that date. This £20 will then be taken off the value of the full order.
Talking Balloons requires full payment at least 1 full month in advance of event from the customer. If the customers event is less than 1 month away from consultation, payment is required upon first consultation.
Talking Balloons will not be held liable for any damage or loss to any balloons once collected or fully installed. This includes any damage caused by unsafe removal of hooks/command strips (YouTube videos are available to watch if unsure on how to remove).
Once collected, the balloons/ order, is your, the customers sole responsibility. Please bear this in mind when near rough or sharp finishes for instance. Any damaged items will be thoroughly checked and if it is deemed not to be a faulty manufactured item, the replacement cost will be yours, the customer to replace.
Talking Balloons holds the right to place all balloons in a clear bag to hand over to the customer for the safety of the balloons. Once the customer has collected/delivery has been completed, all balloons must be removed immediately from all bags as this can significantly reduce float time. Please note that balloons are only guaranteed for a float time of 6-8 hours (helium filled, latex balloons) or 24 hours (all others), however longer periods are often the case. Any damage from environment or inappropriate handling will not be refunded or replaced under guarantee.
Inflated balloons are susceptible to extreme temperatures. For example, near a radiator, pipe work or fireplace or heater within a vehicle as this can lead balloons to explode due to expansion. On the contrary, balloons must also be removed from any cars, garages and other cold environments as this can lead to deflation. Any replacements will be the customers responsibility.
Talking Balloons strongly emphasises that with outdoor decorations, balloons are temperamental in lower temperatures as stated above. Therefore, balloons will oxidise and create a matt appearance. Unfortunately, this is science and Talking Balloons are not liable for this happening. This in turn can also affect the vinyl stickers on any personalised balloons.
In the event that the weather or other unforeseen acts of nature prevents Talking Balloons to install the set decoration, the decoration booking fee/deposit can be applied to another day/event within 12 calendar months from the original date of the event, subject to Talking Balloons’ availability. No refunds will be given.
The customer must inform Talking Balloons of any allergies to latex at the time of your consultation with the decorator, after this point Talking Balloons will not be held liable for any allergic reactions from the balloons.
Balloon are NOT toys and are highly flammable. Please keep away from children and pets, to avoid choking hazards. Latex balloons filled with helium may contain a glue-like substance that helps the balloon to float longer for the intended decoration. All balloons inflated with helium should not be inhaled as this can lead to suffocation. Talking balloons will not be held liable in the case of a fire caused by any use of candles within the venue, by ribbons being caught alight.
Talking Balloons accepts no responsibility for any guests, party members, the customer, hotel or venue staff who may inhale helium and who may experience breathing difficulties through the inhalation of helium or any other effects. Talking Balloons accepts no responsibility for any accidents caused by the customer, guests, party members, hotel or venue staff or members of the public at the customers function moving, hitting or interfering with the balloon décor.
Talking Balloons sometimes uses water weights to weigh down decorations. The weights are secure and will only burst if the decoration is moved, hit or interfered with. It is for you, the customer, to ensure that if ordering a decoration that requires a water weight that no one tamper, hit or interfere with these balloons and, under no circumstances should any decoration be moved once installed. It is the customers responsibility to inform Talking Balloons if any equipment/props are stolen or damaged by a third party. The customer must also report the theft to the police and after that is responsible to cooperate with Talking Balloons and the police so far as the customers help may be required.
Whilst the choice of colours and type of balloons for balloon displays is the customers responsibility, Talking Balloons reserves the right to make substitutions in an emergency.
Once a decoration has been installed it is the customers, or venue’s if pre-arranged with the customer, responsibility to remove all balloons, attachments and accessories unless the customers order includes breakdown/ dismantling with Talking Balloons. All props, for example hoops or poles, will be inspected upon collection and if damaged, unclean or defective in any way, the customer will be fully liable for the costs to clean, repair or replace. If a deposit has been paid, this will not be refunded and if there are any extra costs then the customer will be fully liable to cover the full cost.
Please help to protect the environment. After the customers event has finished, it is the customers responsibility to ensure that themselves, guests, party members, hotel or venue staff do not release any balloons outside and dispose of these in an appropriate manner. All balloons are not suitable for outdoor release. They may have ribbon or other decoration supplies attached to them. Foil balloons in particular can cause damage to electricity lines if they come into contact.
It is also the customers responsibility to ensure that they advise the venue that all props are to be collected if applicable. Talking Balloons does not permit any person other than the customer to use the equipment/props provided outside the scope of the services and/or the event without Talking Balloons’ written consent. The customer also does not have the right to take away any equipment/props from the site without the consent from Talking Balloons, and the customer should not attempt to repair any damages, if any, themselves without consent from Talking Balloons. If for whatever reason, the customer chooses to move the decoration and it is without damage, it is then the customers sole responsibility to move the decoration back to where it was originally installed by Talking Balloons.
Prior to the event commencement, any methods of hanging attachment etc should be arranged with Talking Balloons. It is the customers &/or venue’s responsibility, to clearly communicate with Talking Balloons regarding any methods allowed/ not allowed within the venue. Examples include but not limited to, sticky hooks, blue tack, commands strips for instance.
It is for you, the customer, to ensure all guests and the venue are aware that the event area should be left clear whilst Talking Balloons set up any decorations to ensure that there is a clear working area. At no time should any guests, party members, hotel or venue staff interfere or touch any equipment/props or helium canisters. Keeping the working area clear helps to avoid any accidents when dealing with heavy helium canisters, or working with invisible thread and Talking Balloons accepts no responsibility for any accidents caused by the customer, guests, party members, hotel or venue staff. The whole room/area of the event should be kept closed to guests and party members in particular whilst Talking Balloons is working. Talking Balloons appreciates hotel or venue staff will require access to re-stock bars etc, we do ask that that they do not interfere where possible with our working area and stay fully clear of this area.
It is the customers responsibility to inform Talking Balloons on all of the information for the venue upon first consultation. Including what time Talking Balloons are allowed on the premise to install the decoration and to give all relevant contact details in case they are needed. It is the customers responsibility to give Talking Balloons the correct directions to the venue and for within the venue to the correct room. Any incorrect information may cause delays to the installation of the decorations and if any fees are to occur from this, the customer will be fully responsible to pay these. Talking Balloons will not be held liable for any delays. If the venue is not available or set up at the decided time, the decoration may be left in the nearest acceptable location. If additional time is required (if available) to complete the decoration by Talking Balloons, then the customer will incur additional charges.
It is for you, the customer, to remember that Talking Balloons may not be local to your area and may not be used to any local terminology for addresses so please always state the full accurate venue address. If Talking Balloons is unable to gain access or find an address due to inaccurate details this may result in delays and/ or cancellation of the customer’s order with no refund given.
Talking Balloons reserves the right to take any pictures and/ or videos of the venue and decoration during and after instalment and use these for marketing purposes.
Talking Balloons also reserves the right to alter their pricing on any literature and website at any time without prior warning.
Important to remember:
- Always use a hand pump to inflate balloons.
- Adults should always inflate balloons for children.
- Never put a balloon, or piece of a balloon, in or near the mouth.
- Under no circumstances inhale helium from a balloon or helium tank.
- Always discard broken balloons and ribbon safely and environmentally friendly.
- Do not put balloons near faces as they could burst and cause injury.
Talking Balloons cannot be held responsible for any accident or injury following the mis-use of balloons.
DECORATION CANCELLATIONS & REFUND POLICY
Deposits
Save the Date = £20 Deposit
This holds the date for a decorator to be available for events to assist with ideas and gives the customer time to decide what decorations are required but ensures the date is secured, none refundable.
Orders over £500 total = 20% Deposit
Orders under £500 total = 50% Deposit
We require a deposit when the order is placed to reserve the date, the decorator and to order the relevant products.
The remaining sum needs to be paid in full at least 1 month before the date of the event. Any delays in payments, may result in your order being cancelled without reimbursement due to the costs incurred.
If your event is less than a month away, full order amount will be due with order placement.
If you have placed a ‘Save the Date’ deposit, this will be deducted from the total order amount.
Cancellations & Refunds
Any delay needs to be communicated to Talking Balloons at least 1 hour prior to the decoration booking time. Failure to do so, may result in the decoration not being completed or insufficient time to commence. No refund will be issued and our decorator will need to leave the site to avoid causing further delays to later bookings. This includes, but is not limited to, our decorator being unable to access the venue at the booking time.
If the event is cancelled at any point by the customer deposits are non-refundable. If the order is cancelled by the customer once the final payment is made but before the Event/ Collection, only 25% of the total amount is refundable due to incurred administration costs, ordering of products &/or services and restocking costs. If the order is cancelled by the customer less than 48 hours before the Event/ Collection, no refunds will be made.
A change of date by a customer is acceptable, subject to availability, however any costs already incurred for the original date would not be refunded and additional charges may be incurred to fulfil the new date. If a new date is required and Talking Balloons are not available, please refer to the above refund terms.
If any of the government regulations change due to a pandemic which stops your event going ahead, you have the choice to either change to another date, subject to availability, or have a refund minus the costs of any products or services we have purchased and/or hired specifically for your event, for example specific balloons / local decorator.
We endeavour to supply a consistent range of products, however, due to matters out of our control the products may vary slightly in the following, but not limited to, colour, size and shape. Where these variations occur Talking Balloons will take no responsibility and offer no refund or return.
We strongly recommend fully inflating all balloons to achieve their true colours. Balloons require a constant temperature so should be stored between 15° - 30°C at all times. Variation from this will alter, effect and/ or damage the items of which Talking Balloons will take no responsibility for, as we have no way of confirming how the balloons have been stored, no warranty can be offered with this natural product. Balloons should be kept out of direct sunlight and high humidity conditions. Balloons that have been stored correctly for more than 6 months will require treatment. Once inflated, balloons are exposed to the atmosphere and oxidisation occurs, this effects the balloon surface, the inflation size and any print. Talking Balloons cannot be held liable for any deterioration. It is recommended that balloons are inflated directly before the event start time.
We at Talking Balloons endeavour to give our customers as much information and product knowledge as possible on the products we sell. Talking Balloons will not take any responsibility for losses or any issues that arise from a third party involvement in the products. It is the responsibility of the Talking Balloons customer to pass on the information. We strongly recommend product familiarisation to enable you, Talking Balloons customer, to have a high knowledge of the products you choose to sell, purchased from Talking Balloons.
